Great Gift Ideas For Teachers

It is always tough to try to find the perfect end of the year gift for my son's teacher, and it seems that I am not the only person that struggles with what to get. In the past we have given the traditional mugs, desk sets and little teacher ornaments, but this year I talked to a group of Mom's and we came up with a plan. Charm bracelets are so much in fashion it seemed a natural choice to get together to create a class charm bracelet, a sure surprise.

Charm bracelets can be such a wide variety of styles that we actually started looking at what type of jewelry the teacher seemed to like. Her style was very simple yet elegant, so we decided to go with a single strand style of bracelet. The next step was to decide if silver charm bracelets or gold charm bracelets were the best option.

All of us Moms got together about two weeks before the end of school and decided that we would select from silver charm bracelets, since Ms. Murray tended to wear more silver than gold. Once that decision was made the next was deciding what charms to add on.

We decided that each of the children should select their own unique charm to add to the bracelet. That way this gift would certainly stand out, no matter how many charm bracelets she may already have.

While the children chose their own charms, we stuck to the general categories of teachers, school and kids. It was fun looking at all the different types of silver charm bracelets on display, some which had some terrific teacher themed charms to match.

One of the biggest themes on charm bracelets for teachers seemed to be apples, and it was no different with our collection. Apples of all sizes were combined with other charms such as a #1 Teacher charm and even charms of teacher's books, pencils, rulers and a few "Best Teacher Ever" charms.

As a larger charm on the bracelet the Moms added a charm that was personalized with a message of thanks for all the special time Ms. Murray had spend with the kids. Since she took them on several field trips, we also found charms of those locations as a perfect addition to the charm bracelet.

On the last day of school the kids were so excited to present their teacher with a beautiful class gift. She told them of all the charm bracelets she owned this was her most treasured, which really meant a lot to the kids. Next year I am going to start earlier and talk to the other parents about charm bracelets as class gifts, after all it certainly scored great grades this year.
