How To Get Carrie Bradshaw's Makeup in SATC 2

So you just got back from seeing Sex and the City 2 and now you want to know how to get Carrie Bradshaw's makeup in SATC 2? Get ready because we're about to show you how!

While Carrie shows off a variety of makeup looks in SATC 2, this look will concentrate on the shimmery look seen in the movie poster.

The poster shows Carrie stepping through glittery sand dunes (in heels no less!) in a jewel-encrusted gown. Her look is both fresh and ethereal at the same time.

Her makeup plays on the poster's so-glittery-it's-practically-glowing concept and highlight's Sarah Jessica Parker's stunning blue eyes.

So! To get this look at home, you'll want to go for glowy and shimmery but not overly so. When you're doing a look like this, it's important to only have one thing on your body shimmering or glittery at once.

So if you choose a glittery eye shadow, skip the body glitter and vice versa. Anything else looks like you're 5 years old and got into mom's makeup!

Start with the eyes. From what we can see, it looks Carrie's wearing two colors: a base of champagne or taupe and a gunmetal grey shadow in the crease. Use a makeup brush to coat on the champagne color from your lash line to your brows.

Then use the grey in the crease of your eyelid, making the color a bit thicker at the outer edge of your lid. Dust just a bit below each eye to emphasize the smoky look. Finish with a thick coat of black liner and mascara on each eye.

When you're doing this look, be sure the color you choose suits your eye color. For example, while SJP's got those baby blues that work so well with grey, girls with green eyes might want to try a chocolate brown instead as greys tend to look harsh with green. The look will still retain the same basic idea.

For the face, smooth concealer under eyes and on any trouble spots. Top with a light-coverage foundation.

It looks like Carrie is wearing a light pink blush, but a light bronzer will give your skin that "just-got-back-from-Abu-Dhabi" glow. Trace it on with a round brush from the apples of your cheeks to just near your hairline. This will also help contour your face and draw attention to your cheekbones.

For lips, go neutral so you don't distract from what you've done on your eyes and cheeks. Carrie is wearing a glossy, almond-colored lipstick.

Try a nude pencil filled in with a honey-colored lipstick and topped with a dab of clear gloss to give your lips some fullness.

Finally, finish the look by dusting your collarbone and décolletage with a body shimmer. You can usually find one in powder form (stay away from the gel-like stuff) that can be lightly dusted on with a large puff or kabuki brush.
