Do you have a problem where when you talk, everybody ignores you? Or, do any of your suggestions get ignored by your peers or by your boss? If you do, then here are some simple but effective tips to make people listen to you!
1. Speak louder
Sometimes people don't listen to you because you don't speak loud enough. So a simple but effective solution to this problem is just to speak louder.
2. Interrupt people
It may be considered rude to interrupt people, but it may be the only way to get people's attention so they can listen to you. In fact, people who interrupt are usually the people who you are more keen to listen too because it seems that they have something important to tell you.
3. Stand upright
Your posture is very important in how people will give you your attention. If you have a stooped posture where your head is looking down for most of the time, then it is most likely that people won't listen to you. But, if you stand up nice and tall, people can feel that you have a presence in the room. This will make people listen to you.
4. Wear more formal clothing
If you dress in casual jeans and a ripped shirt, then it is less likely that people will respect you enough so they can listen to you. But, if you dress formally in a suit and tie, people will give you more respect. Hence, they will give you the time so they can listen to you if you dress in this manner.
5. Always be honest
If you are an honest person, people will tend to listen to you more. Even if they don't like what you are saying, they will listen to you. This is because being honest brings a lot of trust in what you say. They will believe what you say because you never lie.
6. Don't be afraid to tell someone off
People who have a lot of strength are the most people who are most likely to be heard. Being strong is an important attribute to make people listen to you. One way to show you are a strong person is to call out a person who has done something wrong. Don't be afraid of telling someone off if they have done something bad. People who don't do this are weak and will never be respected or listen to by their peers. So if you see something wrong, tell it like it is!
