Getting Organised for the Gift Onslaught

We all love babies. A new baby brings such happiness, it seems like the whole world wants to share in your joy.

This is so great, but then comes the question - how to thank all these generous people?

Personalised baby cards are a fantastic way of introducing your new baby girl or boy to family and friends or simply to say thanks for the presents and flowers. This creates a beautiful keepsake for the receiver, especially if the cards have a photo of the newborn with the name and birth details. Having a photo of your baby on a card is a lovely gesture as people can pop these into their photo albums and you can put the baby card into your baby's treasure chest for later.

In order to stay as organised as possible, you may decide to send your cards as a baby announcement card. This way you can gather the addresses and contacts of people before the birth, so you are all ready to take a photo of your new baby and create your card online. Send them out straight away. Be sure to get plenty of extras for the coming weeks so you are prepared for unexpected gifts. They are also very handy to have on hand for people who surprise you with help doing housework or cooking you up a meal for the freezer.

If you do decide to send them out as thank you cards, create yourself a little 'thank you card box' before the birth. In it, you will need: * A good pen * A box of stamps * A list of all your contacts including, full name, address, postcode numbers, a space to note down the gift received * Be sure to include a few blank pages to note unexpected gifts * Any glitter or stickers that you plan on using

This may seem a simple thing, but in the post-natal haze of having a new baby in the house, you will be so grateful to have all these things on hand, in the one place - especially the stamps!

As the gifts arrive be sure to write them down on your list. Then, it's the enjoyable task of choosing your baby photo card and thinking about what words to write. When your personalised cards arrive to your door, you simply sign, lick and stamp!

Keeping it simple is the key to making sure that everyone gets a peek at the new baby and you have as much time as possible to rest up and enjoy time with your new addition. Having a photo on the card is the best way to involve even the most distant relative in the joy of a new little person arriving into the world. Share the love!
