Pursue Higher Studies With Army And Navy ROTC Scholarships

NROTC Midshipmen can take advantage of finances for college with Army and Navy ROTC scholarship grants. Many NROTC midshipmen join this immediately after finishing high school. These are either scholarships or college programs. The Navy men who have applied for a Navy ROTC scholarship in their senior year are called scholarship midshipmen. A written exam and an interview are needed for the application process. The midshipmen are compensated for their tuition, book stipend and education fees. The three types are listed below.

Since the Navy does not pay for the boarding charges, the school sometimes will pay for the rooms of the students partly.

Another college scholarship is the College Program Midshipmen. They sign up without any scholarship to begin with; finish all the prerequisites and tasks of scholarship midshipmen. After this, they continue for four years as second Lieutenants or Ensigns. The Navy then gives them a scholarship in a case where their academic performance is excellent through the entire study course. Officer candidates are those people who are enrolled in the Navy and are pursuing commission from Seaman to Admiral. They keep their pay as enlisted.

MECEP is another study course in which the enlisted Marines participate in ROTC through the Marine Enlisted Commissioning. These individuals end up getting pay with reference to the rank, but do not get paid for school by the Marine Corps. Relatively easy promotions are likely although the student is attending school. In spite of this, higher positions could be revoked in case the candidate doesn't clear this course.

The commitment for students in the Navy ROTC is part-time. During uniform days, the midshipmen go through training from the military perspective. This includes close order drill practices, inspections and training lectures. At least a minimum of one to three sessions of physical training are required. The midshipmen with the Marine Options and the MECEPs need additional physical training.

When students apply for FAFSA, for financial aid, they can choose the ROTC option. The students can later change their mind if they do not want to pursue a career in the military. However, they would still financial aid from school. Sometimes the Navy ROTC scholarships will not cover all the college costs. Some students take the ROTC courses if they want to pursue the option of military. Careers in physical sciences, engineering and nursing can be pursued by students with extra benefits. The NROTC scholarship would provide the appropriate aid for right candidates. If the students want a bright successful future, the Navy ROTC scholarships are very helpful.
