What Are the Online Bachelor Degree Options for Working Adults

Richard glared at his computer monitor. He was angry, confused, and overwhelmed. Every evening, he sits in front of his laptop trying to figure out how to finish his bachelors degree. His job with an advertising company is decent, but could get so much better if he could just find the time to finish his education. The degree could take him from account manager to project manager, which is where he really wants to be. On top of everything, their company was downsizing. So far, the three people from Richard's department were in his boat - having only a high school diploma. If he wants to not only hold on to his job, but excel, he has to find the solution.

Richard's feelings were not without good reason. After a week of Google searches, web site navigation, and the boredom of filling out silly electronic forms, Richard felt like there was no way he could ever earn a bachelor's degree. The closest college was almost an hour away. Classes were offered right in the middle of the workday, and the types of programs that they offered were not at all geared for Richard's line of work.

Widespread Worry
Richard's frustrating saga isn't unusual. Many working adults face the challenge of trying to earn a bachelor degree. While many, like Richard, have a good enough job, finishing their education would help them catapult to an even better one. For those who are stuck in a dead end job, earning their degree is the first step towards something better. However, earning a degree is not as easy as it sounds.

The Online Option
Thankfully, many schools are now offering an online bachelor degree. Earning an online bachelor degree seems to be the ideal solution to the Richard Dilemma. What Richard and other adults want is simple—a bachelor degree. What they are facing is perplexing—an impossible schedule, a time-consuming commute, and irrelevant coursework. There is only option that will solve the dilemma. That option is an online one—earning an online bachelor degree.

How It Works
Finally, many universities are catching on. More and more, universities are providing an online bachelor degree. Earning an online bachelor degree is straightforward. Rather than attend classroom lectures, you watch or listen to prerecorded lectures right on your computer. Most online bachelor degree courses utilize a single Internet portal that provides everything you need to work on your degree—lectures, quizzes, tests, assignment sheets, project uploads, etc. The flexibility of an online bachelor degree is marvelous. Rather than waste precious time on travelling or attending classroom lectures, the student can simply log in and get to work. Besides, most online bachelor degree programs are designed for working adults. Realizing that their main constituency will come from the working community, online bachelor degree tracks focus on subjects that are relevant for people in the work force.

Many people, like Richard, have perhaps experienced some of the anger, confusion, hopelessness, and desperation that comes from trying to get an education and still make a living. Earning a bachelor degree without ever having to step into a classroom is the best answer. The formula of education plus flexibility equals success.
