Hundreds of thousand of emails are sent every day in the modern world, a huge amount of internet traffic is taken up by them. In boxes are often full of emails from unknown senders and anonymous sources; concealed risks are often contained within these emails so it can be useful to find out where and who the email was sent from. A yahoo reverse email lookup can help to do this.
Friends and colleagues from the past may try and email you with addresses unfamiliar, these messages may be deleted out of habit and to protect the user from dangerous content. Often this leads to important emails being removed accidentally and the original message is lost.
Of course harmful viruses that may damage your computer and send themselves to others on your contact list may also be contained in an unknown email. Having the knowledge of where an email came from offers safety from this and allows the sender to be tracked down.
Entering the unknown email into a lookup service will reveal information about the sender. When the email is typed into the search bar results will be shown quickly and clearly. Depending on which site the search is done different amounts of information will be shown. Free sites will provide basic information that may not be totally accurate, whereas sites which charge a fee usually produce a lot more up to date and relevant information.
A directory of users is provided by yahoo, allowing people who are signed up to them to search through the database and find out information about users. This means that if an anonymous email is received form a yahoo account the address just need to be typed into the directory search. However many web mail providers nowadays do not use directories as they wish to protect the privacy of their users.
Things such as the location or name of a company can be found on look up sites, IP addresses are also available. The address of a sender may also be discovered as many of these sites are linked in with mapping software which can provided a basic location of where the email was sent from.
So consider using a yahoo reverse email lookup before opening an email from an address which you are unsure about. Old friends' emails will be saved from accidental deletion when you thought their email was dangerous and harmful emails can be deleted before they are read and infect your computer.
