A Few Tips On Getting Rid Of Hemorrhoid Pain

They are certainly not life-threatening, but haemorrhoids are very painful for any sufferer and can become extremely uncomfortable to live with. Stats tell us that roughly half of those over 50 will have this sort of problem on a regular basis and many others who are younger will also encounter the problem as well. Thankfully, there are many things that can be done in order to reduce the pain, many of which can be applied at home. As such, let's have a quick look at some of the things that you can do in order to reduce hemorrhoid pain.

It is absolutely important that you minimise the straining that you do when you use the bathroom. You need to reduce your level of constipation and this can be done by ensuring that you get plenty of fibre in your diet and also drink lots of water throughout the day as well.

You should also try soaking your haemorrhoids on a regular basis throughout the day. If you soak the affected area in a warm bath for about 15 or 20 minutes about three or four times a day this should help to reduce the swelling and get rid of the pain as well. Of course, this can be difficult when you are busy but you should make sure you try this option in the mornings and evenings when you are available.

It is also a good idea to use an ice pack as well. Using a cold pack and applying it to the area will certainly reduce your pain and get rid of the swelling as well. Any time you choose to use an ice pack you should always make sure it is covered up with a cloth as if you fail to do this further damage can be inflicted.

If these home remedies are not working to you then perhaps there is a bigger problem on offer. Either this or maybe you are simply not going about the whole process in the right way. Whatever the situation, it is crucial that you go to see your doctor to get a proper diagnosis and find out whether there is a bigger problem or not.

Your doctor will also be able to suggest different treatments and remedies that you could look into in order to reduce the pain that you suffer from. Such things as offering you prescription ointments and creams will certainly be a good option, but in more serious cases you may also have two go under the knife, so to speak, and have some surgery done.

All in all, one of the most important things you need to make sure of is that the problem does not re-occur. This can be done by making sure you exercise frequently, that you drink plenty of water, and that you develop the right diet.
