When the weather is warm, no one wants to cover up under a bunch of... well, cover up. Instead, summertime is all about Natrual Makeup. How do you go about getting a fresh, clean, natural makeup look? Start with these 10 tips! Before you know it, you'll be looking cool as a cucumber on even the hottest of days!
.No Racoon eyes - your first bit of natural makeup advice is a bit of preventative medicine. To avoid the raccoon-eye look that sunglasses can leave when your face gets a little too much sun, use a higher SPF on your face than you do on the rest of your body. That's less cover up work you have to do later!
.Mix it up - foundation can feel too heavy in the heat. Instead, mix yours with a little face lotion. This natural makeup look goes on smooth and helps your face feel cooler. If you like, mix it with sunblock instead!
.Make fake look real - there's nothing "natural" about too much bronzer. Instead of choosing a heavy formula in a deep shade, choose a light-wearing powder with just a hint of shimmer in one shade darker than your normal skin tone.
.Pull double duty - start shopping for products that do two things at once. Like a moisturizer and sunscreen in one or a self-tanner that also firms your skin. This keeps your natural makeup look going by keeping you from overloading on product.
.Tone it down - to cut back on oil and shine, use a toner twice a day. To deal with sweat and excess oil, use blotter papers. They absorb oil without soaking up makeup too.
.Waterproof it - between allergy attacks, sun exposure, and days at the beach, eye makeup smudges are just a part of summer. Use waterproof mascara to combat this issue but just do a few swipes - it's key for a natural makeup look!
.Don't let it slip - heat can make eye shadows crease and slide off eyelids. Any natural makeup look should include a non-slip matte shadow or mineral formula.
.Protect your pucker - Don't forget to protect your lips when it's time to go outside. Natural makeup wearers can find gloss that contains an SPF for protection with shine.
.Gel like Magellan - Eyeliner can also do a disappearing act in hot weather. Switch to a gel-based formula. These stay in place longer.
.Prime it - Finally, the key to keeping your natural makeup look in place during any weather - especially heat - is primer. Put it on after you moisturize for all day hold!
