Once you have decided what type of gel wax you want to get you can now start thinking about what embeds you want to put in your candle. There are glass embed which are available in a wide range of shapes and colors. There are also wax embeds that work well with gel candles. If you want a more natural look, you can use items such as shells, sand, and even fruit. You can use embeds of all shapes and sizes making it easy to find objects that fit the size of your candles.

The size of the wick depends on the size of the candle, it is best to increase wick diameter as the diamter of your candle container increases, some containers may also need more than one wick.

A note of caution with candle scents: Because gel wax is so different from other "normal" candle waxes you need to be careful about the scents you get. You cannot use just any candle scent for gel candles. Gel-safe scents must be non-polar. Always check with your supplier before buying candle scents to make sure they are non-polar and have a flash point above 170 degrees.

Gel candles burn at much higher temperatures than normal wax candles, therefore it is important to remain safe when burning your gel candle.
