Being SEO marketers, you would always want the best for your site. Your site's health depends on you and not on keywords tool; though these help a lot; you as the manager of your site, must not solely depend on them. However, looking for the pot of gold in which we call traffic; you have to look in the right places; and it's not on the end of the rainbow, it's just there in places you'd least look for in the net.
1. Get social with social networking sites.
Networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook have millions of users, with the number increasing daily. And best of all, these visitors visit daily to update their profiles, catch up on friends, and comment on the latest happenings.
Make use of these sites and if you play your cards right, you can attract a considerable amount of visitors. One of the things that you can do, when you are on Facebook is to create a fan page about your website. Create a bio about your website business with a link back to your site. Add an opt inbox on your Fan Page to offer a free mini-course or an e-book. Once you have their e-mail address you can build relationships with your subscribers. Send follow-up marketing material through newsletters or mini-courses with a link back to your site.
2. Post ads in newsletters.
And no, this isn't free.
Online newsletters get lots of views everyday. Use this to your advantage and purchase some ads to be posted in relevant newsletters.
However, the tendency with some newsletter readers is that they merely skim the articles and don't read carefully. Thus, you need a bold, attractive ad in the newsletter that can attract their attention.
3. Create free-based software.
You can just think of an idea that may be useful to other marketing online dating affiliates, and then hire a code cruncher to do the program for you.
It doesn't need to be elaborate or fancy. You can suggest making a mortgage calculator or a return of investment calculator, or a great love compatibility calculator. Tell other affiliates and sites about it and then offer them a link or ask them to link back to you.
4. Create downloadable software.
Create some free, downloadable software that contains links to either your site, your newsletter, or your affiliate links. It can even contain links to all three.
5. Submit your downloadable software to a directory.
This is one way to get good publicity. By submitting your free software to software directories sich as Download.com, you are inviting casual clicks to get into your site.
6. Create a catchy, funny video.
Of course, this video needs to also be related to your niche somehow. It doesn't need to be fancy. Make sure that you have a great concept first, then that you have a couple of great actors (or friends that are great at acting). After that shoot away. You can edit your videos using Movie Maker or any other software that you're comfortable with and then save .wmv and .flv format.
The .wmv format can be used to upload the video in Google Video. The .flv format is for YouTube.
Now, make sure that you somehow embed the link to your site in the video itself, or maybe flash it for 5 seconds on the screen before the movie ends.
Get some friends and affiliates to tell people about your video by embedding them on their sites or blogs. If it's really funny, people would get attracted to it, and be encouraged to explore the site where it came from.
7. Include your signature.
Add a signature to each and every e-mail that you send. Be it sent to your visitors, clients, workers, everyone that you use your business e-mail to send to.
Why do you need to keep adding a signature at the end? For one thing, it is a constant reminder of your site to the people you send your emails to. Two, it gives people a link to click to, making it easier for them to access your homepage. And last, it can give visitors incentive to visit.
8. Think viral.
So you've written an e-book, what then? Does it stop there? Think viral! Like the way a virus spreads, you must also think of ways to get people to anticipate products from you.
Say, you released an e-book. Make sure that your e-book is only Volume One to many other e-books that you may send out in the future. This increases anticipation.
9. Add "Add to Favorites" and "Email this page to a friend" links on your site or blog.
The "Add to favorites" button allows your readers to add your URL to their favorites page. While the "email this page to a friend" allows them to spend the good news of your site and blog to their friends who might have an interest in your products or services.
10. Make it easy for people to write about you.
Is your "About Us" or "About the Me'' page boring and unattractive? If yes, scrap it and make a new, completely attention-getting one.
Provide regular and basic information that another blogger or reporter migh need for their blog entrires or articles. Also, make sure that your contact information is updated.
