Challenging Yourself to be Motivated

Getting through your day consists of moving from one step to the next in search of success however you may choose to qualify it. Motivating yourself to reach your highest potential involves discovering a way to keep aiming high, and facing a challenge is often one of the best ways to do so.

Challenges and motivations often work simultaneously, causing you to use the energy of one to feed the other. Our bodies are designed to do this naturally, to keep us on our toes and ready to face whatever challenges may lie ahead. Consider the following:

- We are hard-wired to overcome challenges at every moment! When we feel that our survival is threatened in any way, we work to overcome the obstacle and rise up to ensure our safety and well being. Use this natural drive to get through the toughest situations.

- If you never give yourself challenges, you'll fall into a pattern of mundane repetitiveness. Keep yourself alert by presenting yourself with a dramatic change to your lifestyle. Keep yourself stimulated, and know that your skills will stay sharp!

- Every time you complete a challenge, you'll get that feel-good rush that gives you a motivational boost. Take time to feel proud of yourself for your amazing accomplishments, and then see how you can push yourself even further. Live for that rush!

One of the best ways to discover new challenges is to begin to see tasks that are delegated to you as a way to challenge your identity and your perception of yourself. Put your best foot forward, and remember the following tips to help you make it through:

- As humans, we fall prey to learned behaviours (which we call habits). Often we get trapped within these patterns of behaviour, and it becomes a struggle to get out. However, with the right mindset, and some motivation, we can break through these patterns and create new ways of doing things.

- The best tool to get yourself motivated is your mind! You can easily teach yourself to view any event as a challenge, and become motivated to overcome it. By convincing yourself that this obstacle must be overcome, you are able to motivate yourself to do something about the situation that you've put yourself in.

- While it might seem unrealistic to view everything in your life as a challenge, note that you are doing so to keep yourself motivated. Remember that most common situations can easily become a crisis if your low motivation levels are left unattended. Instead of letting it get to this point, teach your brain to react before you are left with no choice but to face a crisis.

Learning to motivate yourself can sometimes seem like a gruelling process, but once your begin to accept challenges and overcome those obstacles, you quickly get the feeling of being unstoppable. Your motivation levels are sure to take off, and you'll find that you've developed a skill that will keep giving back to you.
