You will find it almost impossible to keep all stress from your life, no matter how laid back and care free you intend to be. If you can't eradicate stress from your live then you need a strategy to deal with it and to manage it before it makes you ill.
Stress can mess up anybody's life, often without the person knowing the mess they are in until it's too late to do anything about it. The problem can occur with people who deal with a lot of small but stressful situations, the problems on their own can seem minor but can when combined can become a major problem and can lead to depression. You will know when you have reached your limit, but it might be too late, blood pressures will rise, migraines will develop among other bodily irregularities. But stress can be managed, so there is not much need to fear.
Stress is not a sudden illness that takes over like the plague, it is something that creeps up on you as your days become more filled with situations that are harder to cope with. Different people experience it differently, but most things are the same. You will become flustered easily and everything will seem either very hard or like a bother. Then the physical discomforts will increase such as; the headaches and other pains that are related to another conditioned but is being triggered by the stress. Then your mental state will deteriorate and lead into depression and if left untreated or allowed to go on long enough, you may just push yourself over the edge. The important thing is to realize when you are under stress and then take a step back.
When you start to become easily flustered, stop for a moment and analyze your situation. This may be at a time when a deadline is on hand and you are worried that you may not meet it. You may be surprised to know that you stand a better chance of meeting that deadline if you sit back and analyze the work that is left to do along with the time that is remaining, then budget that work and time to fit with each other. This way, you can work quickly but calmly and save a lot of time by eliminating possible mistakes that would have been made in your flustered state. This would have inevitably leaded to more stress.
Another thing to do is to take a break, if the break cannot be taken in the midst of the situation, then ensure that one is taken afterwards. A break does not have to be a full fledged vacation, unless of course you can afford it. But it can be a simple break at the nearest pastry shop or any other thing that you like to indulge in. You can even save the break for the weekend, this would be something to look forward to and your days won't seem like such a drag. Take the weekend and visit some friends or go see a movie or whatever you desire and can find the time and money to do.
