How to download a free audiobook

Have you heard a great novel lately? Think about the time you spend in your vehicle daily. If you were able to spend 15 minutes a day reading, how many books do you think you would have read in a year? It's hard for many people to dedicate 15 minutes each day towards reading a book so why not turn your windshield time into a productive learning experience? While you can't actually read a book while you're driving, you can certainly listen to one to soak up the information.

Today, there are literally thousands of audiobooks to download. You can choose to listen to the latest bestseller, search for self-improvement books, listen to the latest magazines and newspapers, and just about any other topic you can think of. After you download an audiobook to your PC you can transfer it to your iPod or favorite MP3 player and even burn it to a CD. This gives you a portable audiobook library. Also, many of the audiobook narrators are the book's author. It is really cool hearing the voice of the actual author.

There are audiobook websites that allow you to try out their service for 14 days or so and give you a free audiobook. If you like their service, they have affordable and flexible options so that you can download audiobooks every month or you can purchase audiobooks on an as-needed basis without a subscription. No matter how you slice it, I have found audiobooks to be much cheaper than the hardcover book and in many cases even cheaper than the soft cover book.

There is a new service that allows you to rent audiobooks. Sometimes you want to listen to an audio book but don't want to own it. This is like having your own library without having to physically go to the library. Audio books are shipped directly to you on CD and you simply return them after you have finished listening to it.

I enjoy downloading audiobooks to my PC then burning it to a CD so that I can hear it in my car. It's a great way for me to be more productive. I have found that when listening to an audiobook it is easier for the mind to absorb the information. Also, I like being able to pause and re-play chapters. Audio books are a great way to learn a new skill and to enjoy great books without having to carry them around.
