Your Internet Marketing Career - How Do You Get Started

First, let me ask you a question. Are you looking to build a long time, full time Internet business or are you looking to make a quick score, like winning the lottery? Did you know that winning the lottery is about as common as getting hit by lightning? Have you ever been hit by lightning?

Your chances of winning the lottery are about the same. The same goes for striking it rich on the Internet for doing nothing. Have you ever heard that there is no such thing as a free lunch? Have you noticed all of the free things you can get on the Internet?

For the last two years I have been on the Internet trying to learn as much as I can. I join membership sites for free to get the free bonuses and whatever information that I can get without upgrading. I download free ebooks, knowing that a one time offer is coming, and that I will be put on a list and start getting email after email.

I do not mind the emails because I can always cancel your subscription. I just delete them, and save the ones that have interesting information. Unfortunately, I have gotten sucked into some of the offers, and some of the membership sites I have upgraded.

I have learned a lot, and I have enough information to build a very good online business. I do not need anything more, but to put into practice what I have already learned.

I framed a lot of houses in the last thirty years, and everyone started with piles of lumber and a plan. If I did not have a plan to follow, I would not have known how to build the house correctly. If I had a plan to go along with the lumber, but just kept looking at the plan, while doing nothing, the house still would not be built.

So now if I have lumber and a plan, what would be the purpose of getting more lumber before using up what i already have. That seems to be what I have done with Internet marketing. I keep learning, but sometime I need to just start building. Is that where you are at, also?

Quit trying to do everything on your own, trying every new program that comes along. Quit downloading every new idea thinking that it is better than the last one. If you want to blog, find a blogging mentor and get started.

Do you want to be an affiliate marketer? Find a product you like and start selling it. Find a mentor who teaches affiliate marketing. Find a mentor who is teaching what you believe in. Find a mentor who will take you from the beginning and lead you where you want to go.

Where do you find the right mentor? Find someone who you trust. Take their recommendations.
