How do some people age gracefully with optimal health throughout their entire life while others don't? Well, sit back, buckle up and get on the road to optimal health.
Today we are going to discuss sleeping tips.
Start your night of sleep off right, prior to going to sleep. The first thing to do to get a good night's sleep is to cut off your meals at least three hours before going to bed and eat the right types of food, as well.
Some good foods to eat for dinner are: for example, if you're eating animal flesh you could have a four to six ounce piece of fish on a large salad with some olive oil. That's a great way to do it! A varied amount of vegetables or you could have some steamed broccoli, with a four to six ounce piece of fish; squeeze lemon on the fish. Keep the starchy carbohydrates out; things like potatoes and pastas. Keep it more toward the non-starchy carbohydrates. Lots of veggies, with your piece of meat!
So, you're going to be keeping the fat and protein up and the carbohydrates, particularly the starchy carbohydrates, to a minimum or to zero at night. This is going to keep the insulin low so you sleep more deeply and you rest and rejuvenate on a higher level.
Some foods to stay away from: certainly fried foods. Fried foods will destroy your hormonal balance, they'll destroy your mood and it will destroy your ability to heal at night while you're sleeping. Some of the other things to stay away from would be bad fats. Ok, bad fats certainly are the fried fats, ok, and really anything that can go rancid like vegetable fat that you cook wilt will turn rancid or oxidize and that will be a bad fat. And, certainly sugars very bad! Stay away from fruit sugars! Fruit sugar, fructose can actually cause big problems before bed. It's going to cause you to gain fat. Fruit is out at night; you don't want to eat that at night. Also artificial sweeteners Nutrasweet, Asperteen, these are neuro-toxins, they cross the blood brain barrier and they go over to the brain, and they cause something called the psyda-toxic effects on the brain cells. They cause the brain cells to actually explode. So, again, severe brain damage from these artificial s! weeteners, so be very, very careful putting that stuff in your body, not only at night, but really any time of the day.
Now, Once you're asleep, you want to try to get six to nine hours of sleep every night. So, the basic things to remember is: go to bed on any empty stomach, and get enough hours of sleep through the night and again, to also avoid the bad foods and move toward the better meal selections.
