Five Tips for Brighter Teeth Now

When your teeth are stained, yellowed, or just dingy, it makes it difficult to smile. You may hide your mouth with your hand, only move the corners of your mouth, or look down in an attempt to hide those less than pearly white. There are some ways to brighten your teeth and keep them looking fantastic. Check out the following five tips for brighter, whiter teeth!

#1 Avoid Coffee, Tea, and Wine

You've probably heard this before, but coffee, tea, and wine can really wreck havoc on your smile. You may think that a glass every now and then won't hurt, but each one will stain. Red wine is one of the worst culprits when it comes to staining, but daily doses of coffee and tea can be just as bad. If you do have a glass of coffee, tea, or wine, rinse your mouth with water afterwards to keep the deposits from forming on your teeth.

#2 Try Baking Soda and Water

Baking soda has been around for years and most women are quite familiar with its multitudes of cleaning uses. A little paste of baking soda and water is terrific for brightening your smile quickly. There are several toothpastes available today that contain baking soda, too. These might taste a lot better than the baking soda and water, but they won't work as quickly. You should also use a regular fluorinated toothpaste, as well, but the baking soda and water paste will do wonders for your smile if you use it once or twice a week.

#3 Try the Whitening Products

You'll find many whitening products on the market today. They range from toothpastes, to strips of plastic with gooey substances to ultraviolent light treatments. Many of these products are not very effective, but some are. You should read the reviews of the various products and see which ones have the highest ratings for customer satisfaction. You may also want to compare prices, as some of these products can be quite expensive.

#4 A Trip to the Dentist

Your dentist has many options for brightening your smile. These include dental work, such as crowns and veneers. While these are very expensive, theya re permanent solutions for whiter teeth. Most dental offices now offer some form of whitening service, too, and you can often find these services at discounted prices when you have other dental services done.

#5 Use a Beige or Golden Lipstick

One of the fastest ways to make it look like your teeth are brighter is to avoid red lipstick. Beige or golden lipsticks will make your smile look much brighter and you'll be surprised at how many people notice!
