Are All Vacuum Cleaners The Same

With numerous models available, you will be justified in asking the question many others before have set forth. That question, of course, is which vacuum cleaner should I buy?

You will soon realize that the answer to that question depends on many factors, most of which will boil down to your own preferences. After all, you will be paying, using and maintaining the vacuum cleaner so it is only right that your needs in one will take precedence over other criteria.

Your requirements will also vary depending on the general type of vacuum cleaner chosen. There are three basic categories in this case - with bags, without bags and robotic, all uprights. Take note that we shall be discussing the upright type only, not the handheld and the canister types.

Bagging Vacuum Cleaners

The most popular type of vacuum cleaners are the bagging type and for good reasons, too. For one thing, you have the benefit of filters particular the HEPA filters that make for excellent filtration systems. As much as 99 percent of the air particulates, allergens and other harmful organisms are filtered by the vacuum cleaner and, thus, make for a cleaner, clearer air.

For another thing, your exposure to the dust is considerably lesser because the dirt scooped by the vacuum cleaner remains in the bag. Now contrast that with the bagless type where emptying the cup can mean exposure to it.

It seems that the only significant disadvantage to the bagging type is the necessity to purchase compatible vacuum bags. It can represent added expense but since you only need to change the bag once every month with regular use, it is a relatively small outlay.

According to consumers, the best bagging vacuums include the Eureka Boss SmartVac, the Kenmore Progressive, and the Hoover Tempo Widepath. Look at these cleaners first and see how these measures up to others in the market.

Bagless Uprights

Now, if you cannot be bothered with finding and buying replacement bags, then go for the bagless vacuum. Plus, you will love the fact that you can reduce the waste filing up our landfills since fewer bags are used. Just remove the detachable dustbin from the bagless vacuum and the unit is good for more rounds of cleaning.

Keep in mind that you will be exposed to the dust while emptying the dust bin. You may want to seriously rethink the bagless type if and when you have severe allergies to dust, dirt and other substances that the vacuum cleaner may have picked up.

The big names in bagless uprights include Dyson with its DC25 All Floors, the Hoover EmPower and the Kenmoore Progressive, too.

Robotic Vacuums

And then there are the robotic vacuums, of which the most popular brand is the Roomba. It is a vacuum cleaner that cleans carpets and floors but with little human intervention other than programming its controls. You cam leave it to do the floor all by its efficient self.

In many reviews, the versions of Roomba perform fairly well although the ratings for both the basic and advanced are almost similar. Still, you might want to purchase a spare upright vacuum just in case too much electronics bogs down.
