Can You Have Too Much Information

Planning a vacation should be a fun thing. Thinking about all the things you would like to do and see. Once you narrow down where you want to go it should be easy after that right? Depending on where you decide to go, you can quickly find yourself overwhelmed.

Take the Wisconsin Dells for example. The Dells is a great place to vacation with tons of water parks, shows, hotels, and great things to do. But you start trying to figure out the specifics of what you want to do and you quickly find yourself completely overwhelmed. With numerous packages, hundreds of hotels, pretty soon you feel like you need a vacation from planning the vacation!

Getting into a new multilevel business can feel the same way. All the new products, the compensation plan, even just the names of the important people in the business, particularly if you have never been in business for yourself before, can be overwhelming.

There is the website, the training calls, and email after email with something "important." Your brain feels like it is in a fog and just wants to turn itself off! How can you avoid information overload and get off to a good start?

First, ask your upline to send you the most important thing you need to first. Ask them to send you just one thing, not a list of things. If you get a list of things, even if you know you don't have to do everything at once, just seeing the list can be discouraging.

Make sure you understand that first thing before you move onto something else. Like anything you do, business knowledge is a building process. If you don't understand the first thing in the process, you are going to have trouble understanding the 100th thing in the process.

Don't let the fear of everything you don't know stop you from working in your business. Concentrate on what you do know, not what you don't know. Once you have gained at least the minimum knowledge, go ahead and talk to people. It is perfectly acceptable to get help from y your upline or to say that you don't know the answer to a specific question, but you will get back with an answer.

Being in business is a constant learning process. Even people who have been working for themselves for years have to learn new things constantly. The change and learning are part of what make being in business attractive. You never get bored because there is always something new going on. So take a deep breath, keep working on learning, and enjoy the success.

The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.Ralph Waldo Emerson
