Excessive Sweating and How It Affects You

Sweating is secretion of salty solution by sweat glands in our body. The amount of sweating is directly proportional to the number of these sweat glands. This number varies from person to person consequently some of us sweat more than others.

Excessive sweating is a very common problem and though it has a very strong physical impact. It is the emotional side to the problem that is particularly crippling. Sweating normally occurs when a person is under some kind of distress. This means that we associate a sweaty person with someone who is ill at ease. Although this assumption is true in most cases it is emotionally damaging to hose among us who have the excessive sweating disorder.

Excessive sweating can lower the morale of a person. It makes people already suffering the physical aspects of the disorder somehow more aware of their problem. This manifests itself in low self-confidence and self - esteem.

Although seeking professional help is the way to permanently get rid of the problem. Here are some general guidelines that can help mask the problem and boost self-confidence.

The first and foremost is the choice of clothing. Sweat stains can cause embarrassment and can make a neat and clean person appear untidy. Although a huge problem this can be solved by a few careful choices. Try and wear breathable materials which dry quickly without stains. Wear dark colors as sweat marks are harder to detect on them. You can also try and wear such design or use accessories to draw eye away from the problem area.

Particular kinds of foods cause sweating these should be avoided. The foods that can be responsible for sweating are Alcohol, caffeine rich food, spicy food etc. Try to eat instead foods that are light ad not too spicy. Such foods are not only good for your general overall health but also keep you inner body temperature down.

Another good idea will be the use of strong antiperspirants try using roll-ons instead of the aerosol ones for better and lasting protection. Avoiding overly heated area can also impact excessive sweating.

But most importantly it is reminding yourself that it is a medical problem you have for which there are different treatments. Once you start looking at this as a problem, not only do you try and find solutions for it you also cease to be embarrassed about it.

There are excellent treatments available for the problem of excessive sweating. These include use of aluminum chloride hexahydrate for application directly on the effected area, oral medication is also a form of treatment. In fact the treatment methods of this seemingly simple problem can be very diverse and drastic. Another treatment method is minimally-invasive surgery. Excessive sweating is a medical condition and should be treated like one in order to avoid or at the very least minimize the physical and emotional damage.
